Brief information
The Southern Scientific Research Institute of Marine Fisheries and Oceanography (YugNIRO) is the leading state scientific institutution under the umbrella of the Agency of Fisheries of Ukraine, conducting complex fishery research.
The main purpose of the YugNIRO researchers is scientific support of current activities and development of marine fisheries of Ukraine through implementation of complex measures in order to achieve long-term conservation and sustainable usage of marine living resources.
The leading trends of YugNIRO’s activities:
- support of the fishery sphere with up-to-date information on state and dynamics of water living resources and their environment;
- statistical control of fishery enterprises activities;
- collection, storage and analysis of biooceanographic and commercial-statistical data;
- mari- and aquaculture;
- technologies of hydrobiota processing;
- standartization in the fishery sphere.
