Monocrystalline Magneto-Optical Materials for Magnetic Fields Transformation, Information Recording and Nanotech Applications


Brief description Magneto-optical monocrystalline epitaxial films of ferrite-garnets with mirror-like sheeting or without it allow transforming of magnetic fields distribution into optical images. Depending on magnetic anisotropy (perpendicular or parallel to a film layer) might become active environments for the high-frequency (up to 1 GHz) time or spatial light modulators. Upon condition of increased coercivity they allow data recording using laser beam. Being dielectric, they make no Johnson noise, are almost transparent for infra-red light and therefore, they are optimal environments for cooled atoms manipulating and capture. The sensitivity regarding magnetic field reaches to 10 А/h, which allows apply such films in magnetic sensors.
